JPS

The Jiva way of life is about working together, cooperating and endeavouring to achieve brilliance in every sphere. There is a common spirit that binds together the whole Jiva community. Besides academics, we also encourage the students to take part in extracurricular activities since we believe that these play a seminal role in shaping the overall personality of an individual. With a view to provide a fillip to the all-round development of its students, JPS has several clubs where students can participate in various activities of their interest. These clubs are a constant hub of activities, functioning as mini entities and holding regular workshops and competitions. Even the parents endorse the formative role played by these societies.

The purpose of conducting the clubs on Wednesdays and Saturdays is to help the students develop their faculties and use the various resources to create something new. Here is a list of the clubs and their activities at JPS:

  • Chess Club – This is a part of the Sports Club where the students are taught both the theory and the practical of the game. A competition is also held after every semester.

  • Computer Club – The students make learning aids and resources for their juniors using video and digital camera, recording software, animation, sound etc.

  • Environment Club – The semi-annual mission of this club is to identify at least six non eco-friendly problems/areas in the school premises and implement solutions for them. This club plays a leading role in all such activities.

  • Science Club – The students in this club make working models based on critical thinking and exhibit them.

  • Music and Drama Club – the students prepare a musical drama to be presented in the Annual Sanskar Mela.

  • Sports Club – Here the students are trained to play at least one game of their choice.

  • Event Management Club – This club is responsible for the maintenance of the corridor soft-boards as well as the organisation and management of all the small and big events held in the school throughout the year.

  • Media Club – Comprising all the aspects of newspaper publishing, viz. reporting, sorting, content writing, typing, editing, designing to printing a monthly newsletter as well as the annual edition of the school newspaper, this club is the hub of activities all through the year.

"Thanks for all your support and efforts. We have noticed a lot of changes in Ishaan. He is becoming better disciplined, enjoys going to school, greets us in the morning and has also started touching our feet, first thing in the morning. Thank you Jiva for giving Dincharya ke Niyam."
